Evoke the power of the Cailleach, the divine Crone of Creation, Winter and the Cycles of Life
According Gaelic (Irish, Scottish and Manx) mythology, the Cailleach represents the divine hag and Grandmother of the creation of the earth and weather, especially winter storms and even time itself. She is also known as a sovereignty and cosmological goddess connected to nature, harvest and death as part of the cycle of life.
In Ireland she is also called the Hag of Beara or The White Nun of Beara, or The Old Woman of Dingle. Associated with the Beara Peninsula in County Cork, Ireland, where she was first said to have brought winter. "The Lament of the Hag of Beara", is a medieval Irish poem which laments the passing of time through the maiden, mother and crone aspects is meant to be voiced by her.
Our design of the Cailleach is inspired by the Wailing Woman stone, representing the Hag of Beara standing on the shores of County Kerry, Ireland. She looks out over the water to the Little Skellig, a uniquely shaped island off the Atlantic said to have been created by Tuatha de Danaan.

All of our products are designed and individually 3D printed here in our home studio using a bio-safe, non-toxic, vegetable, wood fibre or sugar-cane based PLA. We then hand-finish each piece, usually smoothing and sanding them using a natural wood fibre material and then acrylic paints or glazes. The cured finishes are non-toxic but the metallic finishes do have the actual metals in them. This is a clean and local process and our materials are selected from those made in Canada or the USA. We are 100% NOT “Made in China” and take some pride in that. Through careful research and testing, we have found a great way to get around the toxic resin and moulding processes used in most of the statues on the market.
