Our version of Ceridwen is meant to represent her roles as both moon goddess and goddess of witches and thus she is simply depicted holding the moon over her cauldron.
Ceridwen's name is derived from the Celtic word "cerru," meaning cauldron - which explains the common spelling of her name as Cerridwen. Like the Goddess herself, her cauldron of Awen symbolises the transformative power of magic, wisdom, rebirth and creative inspiration.
Ceridwen is the Goddess of the Moon, Poetry, Music, Luck, Earth, Death, and Fertility.
She owned the cauldron of Poetic Inspiration (Awen) and is seen as the Druid goddess of rebirth, transformation, and inspiration.
Cerridwen (Cerrdwyn, Ceridwen, Ceridwyn, Kerridwen) is also a Goddess of grain, life, death and rebirth, inspiration, transformation, the Moon, wisdom and poetry. She is the crone/mother aspect of the goddess.
Product Details: Our version of Cerridwen is hand finished in an aged black and mottled silver for the moon that will vary for each piece. She stands 10cm tall, 5cm wide, 6cm deep and weights approximately 20g.
All of our products are designed and individually 3D printed here in our home studio using a bio-safe, non-toxic, vegetable, wood fibre or sugar-cane based PLA. We then hand-finish each piece, usually smoothing and sanding them using a natural wood fibre material and then acrylic paints or glazes. The cured finishes are non-toxic but the metallic finishes do have the actual metals in them. This is a clean and local process and our materials are selected from those made in Canada or the USA. We are 100% NOT “Made in China” and take some pride in that. Through careful research and testing, we have found a great way to get around the toxic resin and moulding processes used in most of the statues on the market.
