Odin's Bust - Wise All Father of the Norse (Bust Replica)
Odin (Odhinn,Woden, Wotan, or Wodan, Proto-Germanic *Woðanaz,), is the All Father and Chief God of Norse Mythology. As leader of the Aesir family of Gods, he resides in Asgard with the other Gods and Goddesses but often travels the world on his eight legged horse Sleipnir in search of knowledge.
His quests for knowledge are legendary; in one story he sacrificed his eye to see the cosmos more clearly and in another he sacrificed himself to himself by hanging from Yggdrasil (the World Tree) for 9 days and nights and was gifted with knowledge of the Runes. Even his familiars two ravens Huninn and Muninn support his thirst for information by traveling the 9 realms during the day and reporting back their findings to Odin each night.
Odin is a very complex character as evidenced by the fact that he is ruler not only over War and Death, but also Magic and Poetry! As the War God, it was said he never lost a battle and he has two wolves Geri and Freki, who scour battlefields for the half the corpses of fallen warriors to take to his Hall Valhalla. Odin’s name also means Master of Ecstasy or Fury and it was this essence that he bestowed upon the warriors who asked for his favour in battle.
He is also a powerful magician, having learned the magical art of Seidr from the Goddess Freyja he is able to see the future and commune with spirits of the dead. He is also a shape-shifter who’s purported to speak in poetic verse which has the power to bewitch mortals.
Today Odin is still revered for his wisdom, his magic and his gift of the Runes amongst many Pagan, Wiccan and Scandanvian worshipers.
Product Details: This small (approx. 3") statue is a pretty faithful replica of an actual carved wooden head dating back to the Middle Ages which is the property of the Historical Museum of Oslo (Norway). The 3D model was adapted from cleaned retopology scan data of the original piece. After printing in wood fibre PLA, it was then hand finished and aged. As such, there will be variations in the grain, colour, and finish that are unique to each piece.

All of our products are designed and individually 3D printed here in our home studio using a bio-safe, non-toxic, vegetable, wood fibre or sugar-cane based PLA. We then hand-finish each piece, usually smoothing and sanding them using a natural wood fibre material and then acrylic paints or glazes. The cured finishes are non-toxic but the metallic finishes do have the actual metals in them. This is a clean and local process and our materials are selected from those made in Canada or the USA. We are 100% NOT “Made in China” and take some pride in that. Through careful research and testing, we have found a great way to get around the toxic resin and moulding processes used in most of the statues on the market.
