Introducing our Spring version of Persephone which depicts her rising from Hades in shades of spring as the wheel of the year turns from winter at the Spring Equinox. We have two Persephone designs which are inspired by the wheel of the year. This version represents her ascent back to earth at the spring equinox coloured by the hues of green and early flowers. .  Our Descending Version (add link) depicts her descent in Hades for the Fall Equinox coloured by the flames of the underworld.

​​In Greek mythology the changing of seasons is told through the story of Persephone and Demeter where Persephone is abducted by Hades and as her Mother Demeter searches for her in anguish, her sorrow brings on endless winter.  But the Gods intervene and Persephone is allowed to leave the underworld for 6 months of the year so her return brings Demeter great joy and she allows the earth to life until winter returns. 

At the spring equinox we give thanks for the growing warmth of the sun and the awakening of Mother Earth as the wheel of the year continues to turn. 

We have four variations of Persephone (aka Proserpina - Roman). Three are shown in photos 1-4 and we are also offering a "Magical Worlds" version which is hand-scaped with various trees and flowers, as shown in photos 5 and 6. The listing for those versions is here: update

Product Details: Our version of Persephone stands 13 cm/5" high, 10 cm/4" wide, 6 cm/2.5" deep and weighs 40 gr/1.4 oz.

She is hand-finished in a proprietary process using earth tones and bronzing materials to give her a unique and aged patina. Three versions are available: Black and Dark Red Fire, Traditional Bronze, and Blue-Green with Silver (the spring version). Because they are hand finished, each one will vary slightly in terms of final shade and sheen.

All of our products are designed and individually 3D printed here in our home studio using a bio-safe, non-toxic, vegetable, wood fibre or sugar-cane based PLA. We then hand-finish each piece, usually smoothing and sanding them using a natural wood fibre material and then acrylic paints or glazes. The cured finishes are non-toxic but the metallic finishes do have the actual metals in them. This is a clean and local process and our materials are selected from those made in Canada or the USA. We are 100% NOT “Made in China” and take some pride in that. Through careful research and testing, we have found a great way to get around the toxic resin and moulding processes used in most of the statues on the market.
